Juvéderm FAQs
What is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm is a dermal filler composed of hyaluronic acid, a protein compound produced naturally in the body. It is used to treat the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, particularly in the face. It has been proven effective in combating foot pain in areas that have lost tissue volume to aging and use.
How is Juvéderm different from other dermal fillers?

Juvéderm is an ultra-smooth gel with increased consistency compared to former dermal fillers, which makes it highly effective adding volume to the skin. The formula of Juvéderm also allows it to be injected with extreme efficacy, and does not create the bumps and nodules that some other fillers may leave.
Why is hyaluronic acid used?

Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced by the body, thus it will not be rejected by the immune system when introduced. It is also not an active chemical, and does not interfere with any metabolic pathways, so its risk of usage is extremely minimal. Hyaluronic acid is purported to assist with skin rehydration, which enables it to provide stimulating secondary effects to the injected area.
How is it used?

Juvéderm is loaded into a fine needle and gently guided into treatment areas.

Results are immediate and there is no associated downtime.
Can it be combined with other procedures?

Yes. Juvéderm can be safely combined with a number of other cosmetic procedures.
How long does Juvéderm last?

Juvéderm has been purported to last between three months to upwards of a year.
